My Deer England – Wollaton Hall and Deer Park, Nottingham
April 30, 2020
Oh my deer…! You should not miss this wonderful deer park if you are visiting Nottingham, England.
Nottingham is in the East Midlands region. For those of you who are not familiar with English geography, the city is approximately 200 kilometres north of London. If you take the East Midlands train from London St Pancras Station, you should reach Nottingham in just under 2 hours.
Nottingham may not sound like a very touristy city, but there is definitely something to do. For first-time visitor like myself, I understood more about the history of Nottingham by visiting the City of Caves, and enjoyed myself in the Nottingham Castle. Football fans here should also be familiar with the name Nottingham Forest – their stadium is located just next to the River Trent.
Batman fans should be fairly familiar with this place. The movie The Dark Knight took place right outside Wollaton Hall, as the Wayne Manor. While personally I am not a Batman person, I still find that the hall looks glamorous. And hey, who wouldn’t love the adorable deers?
Getting to the park is not particularly difficult either. It is within walkable distance from the University main campus, which is also quite beautiful. If you are living in downtown Nottingham, then taking a bus or the tram may be a viable option. There is also a car park on the site if you are driving.
